STEP-UP THUMBNAIL STORYBOARD

STEP-UP TREATMENT

A beautiful full moon is shining on the black empty sky. On the roof, two cats are flirting each other. Then the moon is fading out and turning out to be a ring in the man’s hand. The man looks at the ring and smiles. He is sitting in the taxi. Then, the wheels stop. The man pays the taxi fee. A driver’s white bony hand takes the money.

The man stands on the footpath. He looks at his girlfriend whom is sitting in the Coffee Shop on the opposite side of the road waiting for him. She sees him and smiles. While the man is crossing street, a car from the man right hand side coming toward him. Just about to hit the man, it stops. The man bows to apologize the car driver and continue to cross the street. Suddenly, a car from another side comes and hits him within a flash.

He wakes up with confusion on where he is. Something is popping up on his head. He touches it. It is a little umbrella. He hears some noise so he turns around. He sneaks and hides behind a rock. In front of him, every soul is queuing up to the Hell Entrance. Also, a little umbrella is on each soul’s head. He sits down with sadness. He looks at the photo of his girlfriend. He touches her face in the photo and sobs. Suddenly, a white bony finger touches the man head. The man looks up. It’s the grim. The grim gives him a cute smile. The grim points to the flower of resurrection on the mountain and touches his watch twice before he disappears.

“To start climbing, Press the button” The man looks at the words on the sandglass and presses the button. The sand falls down. The man climbs up the mountain. He has been climbing for a while. He is tired. Suddenly, two hands stick out from the mountain, catch the man’s legs and pull the man down to the ground. The man pats his bottom. Then he stands up and goes again. He climbs up but this time something is flowing down from the top. It’s oil. He slips down to the ground. He has little time left. Now, he feels paralyze. He looks up to the top. Then he sees an illusion of his girlfriend, sitting nearby the rose, and reaching out her hand to him. Now, the man feels stronger. He gathers his power and climbs up again. The sand keeps falling down. Finally he reaches to the top. He looks at the rose and smiles. He grasps the rose and pulls it up. However, the rose turns out to be the grim hand. He’s shocked. He turns around and sees that the rose is actually on another mountain. He feels so disappointed. He knocks his head down to the ground. Then he takes the ring box out. He looks at the ring. He cries. His tear touches the ring. Magical happens, his umbrella gets bigger and expands. The word, “Umbrella of LOVE” appears. Rainbow and fireworks celebrate on the sky. He can fly. The grim is shocked and get angry. The man flies to the rose on another mountain. The last sand falls down. The man grasps the rose and gets back to earth.

The man stands on the footpath before he died. He touches his body and looks around. He smiles. He close his hands tight and say YES!. He looks at his girlfriend who standing on the opposite side of the road. She smiles to him. He smiles to her. Then, A car drive passes his face. He smiles to his girlfriend again, but now she disappeared. Then he sees his girlfriend lying on the ground. A car hits her.
